The rough and the cleaner version of my Rolemodel character Sadhbh.
Drew and cleaned up in TVpaint since I’ve been using it all summer for work. I liked the roughness of the line in the first one but since it was going to be available at a big size I cleaned it up and polished it more.
Just a reminder to anyone Irish peeps that the Animation Art Show charity auction is on this weekend!
You can see all the piece’s online here, or in person in the Science Gallery, Dublin on the 2nd & 3rd November. My piece, the slightly depressed looking lumberjack above, is lot #67 in Part 3 .
They will all be auctioned off on Sunday 3rd to raise money for a great cause, in aid of two children’s charities.
If you’d like to get your hands on a lovely painting, plushie, print… or something that doesn’t begin with a P go and please come along! There is some awesome raffle prizes to be won as well!
My submission for the Animation Art Show which I am really looking forward too! The entries so far have been brilliant and it’s in aid of a couple of great charities. Check out the their site for more info.
There is more pictures and info about the Lumberjack on my plushie blog for those interested in such things.
Changed tack with the style of drawing a little, still exploring but getting closer.
Next round of sketches and she’s pretty mean. Figuring out what kind of details, poses and body shape I want.
Early rough sketches attempting the character. She changed a good deal from here but some details are already there
A sneak peek of my Light Grey Art Lab ‘Rolemodels’ piece.
You can preorder the card game now, I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on it! The show opens on Oct 25th (details here) but posters, prints and the card game will be available online from the 18th!
I’ll be posting more roughs and WIP’s this week
Q:I just checked that you worked on Ben Bocquelet's The Amazing World of Gumball as 2D animator in Studio Soi. (BTW awesome short you made for LNWC)
I had a good time working on Gumball S01 in Dublin and S02 in Studio Soi. I enjoyed being Soi, its a very cool studio producing a fantastic range of stuff. Everyone should take a look at their site (and if you check out their ‘about’ page I think I even pop up in a photo) :D www.studiosoi.com
S03 is starting soon and I’m afraid I won’t be back for that but I wish the guys all the best.
