A watercolour for my talented friend Sandra, celebrating our mutual appreciation of pokemon!
I’ve included a couple of the WIP sketches too for good measure
Q:I lOVE you plushies! What kind of fabric do you usually work with? Would you recommend felt bought from walmart or michaels? Because that's all I can find any from. :c
Thank anon. I use a lot of different fabric most felt and fleeces.
I don’t know what kind of felt is in walmart or michaels because I don’t live in America :D However if its acrylic felt, the kind they often use for craft, then I wouldn’t recommend it. It doesn’t feel nice and its too loosely bound to take stitching (and I’ve found its not as colour-fast).
I would recommend a raylon/wool blend or else 100% wool felt. You can buy them from a whole load of online shops and also from sellers on etsy. Most fabric shops will sell it on big rolls or sometimes in squares.
If you are finding it hard to buy fabric you like you could try dying your own using old wool blankets or flannel (has to be natural fabric to take the dye). You can also recycle second hand clothes for fabric too.
Good luck plushing!
Plushie Post #5 (and last plushie post)
This one has shown up on my blog before but I thought I would post a better photo and some details.
Flower fae was made as a commission for a friend but based on a character I had designed previously (first pic)
Originally I was thinking of making the whole line-up of characters but plushing takes a long time u_u
Looking back though sketchbooks and found some old LNWC character sketches. You can watch my film here
Plushie Post #3
My favourite ladies.
The grey and green were made as sort of portrait plushies for people.
The blue lady remains one of my favourite things that I have made. I still have her and she’s always hanging up near my desk.
Plushie Post #2
First one is a character belonging to amazing lady Boum!
Next is a plushie of my own character from a short film of called Colour Contamination
And lastly a fluffy yeti :B
Plushie Post #1
I am going to do a few posts that include some of my favourite plushies that I’ve made over the years (since about 2006!)
-The rabbit photographer was made for a sweet friend of mine ♡ Niclas ♡
-The bear was a great commission that simply involved the words: bear + sad + fez.
-The king was just made for because I wanted the challenge :)
